Terms of Service

By using Carakin on Android or on the web (including carakin.com/app) you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Carakin is an encrypted family caregiving calendar for medications, appointments, tasks, documents, and related care coordination. Android and web share the same family vault. Features may change as the product evolves. Reminder notifications are available on Android; the web app manages the same schedules without push notifications. We may suspend access for abuse, security risk, or legal compliance.

Accounts and families

You sign in with a supported identity provider or email. Care data belongs to a Carakin family. Members may have admin, caretaker, or kin roles. You must be legally able to agree to these terms and must have permission to add profiles and care data for each person you track.

Subscriptions

New families may receive a limited Premium trial. After the trial, Free plan limits apply unless someone buys Family Premium. One Family Premium subscription covers the whole family on Android and web. Billing may be handled by Stripe or an app store. Document storage is limited on Free and Premium to prevent abuse; current limits appear in the product and on pricing.

Your responsibilities

• Safeguard your devices, recovery code, and sign-in credentials.
• Only invite people who should access that family's care data.
• Do not use Carakin to store unlawful content or attempt to break encryption or access controls.
• Understand that exported files and visit packets leave end-to-end encryption once saved or shared outside Carakin.

Family administration

Family admins can invite members, assign roles, grant encryption access to devices, manage billing where available, export data, and permanently delete the family. Deletion is irreversible. All members lose access when a family is deleted.

Encryption and recovery

Care content is encrypted on your devices before sync. Carakin cannot decrypt it. If you lose every unlocked device and the recovery code, encrypted family data may be permanently unrecoverable, including by us.

Disclaimer

Carakin is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for data loss caused by lost recovery codes, device failure, third-party outages, or misuse. Health information in the app is for family coordination only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected in the document date on carakin.com and in the Android app.
