Reminder notifications (Android)
Care schedules can include reminder times, but Android will not show them unless Carakin is allowed to notify you - and, on many phones, to use Alarms & reminders. This is phone-only; the web app does not fire local dose alarms.
Turn permissions on
- Open Settings in Carakin.
- Find Reminders & notifications.
- Under Notifications, tap Allow. If Android already blocked the prompt, tap System settings and turn notifications on for Carakin.
- Under Alarms & reminders, tap Allow (or System settings) and grant Carakin permission to schedule exact alarms. Both rows should show On.
Reminder offsets themselves are set when you create or edit a medication, appointment, or task in +Care (for example, 15 minutes before).
Reschedule after fixing
When both permissions are On, tap Reschedule reminders in the same Settings section. Carakin rebuilds upcoming alerts for this phone and your account.
Returning to Carakin after changing system settings also refreshes the status and can reschedule automatically.
Still missing alerts?
- Confirm the care item has a reminder time set (not reminders turned off).
- Check that the phone is not in Do Not Disturb / Focus modes that silence apps.
- Some manufacturers add battery "optimization" that delays background apps - allow Carakin to run unrestricted if reminders are late.
- Unlock the family on this phone; reminders need an unlocked device with the family key.
